Bureau of Legal Dentistry (BOLD)
Based in the University of British Columbia, it is the only labratory dedicated to full-time forensic dentistry research, casework and graduate teaching in North America. Was established in 1996 to develope new technology and techniques in forensic odontology.
American Society of Forensic Odontology
Primary objectives are to develop and maintain high standards of practise and to advance the cause of forensic odontology.
American Board of Forensic Odontology (ABFO)
Organized in 1976 by the National Institute of Justice, its purpose is to enhance, revise and establish the qualification standards for those entering the career of a forensic odontologist and to certify them as qualified specialists if they are able to meet the requirements of the Board.
International Organization for Forensic Odonto-Stomatology (IOFOS)
Established in 1987, the IOFOS main objectives are to provide communication between legal forensic odontology societs on a global basis, and to promote good will, advancement and research in forensic odontology. Third is to publish a newspaper on a regular basis.
